Traumatic Brain Injury is a difficult affliction to cope with, for the injured person, family and care-giver. It literally takes a village to help the survivor recover and return to a productive life. Sometimes there are no external signs of injury, until the person behaves in ways that do not seem “normal”. Others have obvious signs of injury, and are often ridiculed and stared-at by the public, not realizing the incredible struggle they face each day. I am truly inspired by those with TBI. Whenever I visit my daughter’s Clubhouse, an incredible place for adult survivors of TBI to thrive, all I see is a group of people with smiles, determination and so much heart. I consider it an honour to know them and I always come away with the feeling that God’s light shines on them.
As we approach our Canadian Thanksgiving, I am so thankful for all of my blessings: my family, friends and colleagues, and to my clients who have placed their trust in me. Each and every one of you is precious to me. May God bless you and keep you safe this holiday weekend!
It’s that time of year again… colds and flu!!! What are you doing to protect yourself? Here are some guidelines:
- Wash hands thoroughly and often.
- Get adequate sleep (you know who to call if you’re not! The Lullaby Lady strikes again!)
- Stay away from sick people! Encourage your fellow workers to STAY HOME when they are sick. Decline social engagements with someone whom you know is unwell. (as in, common sense?)
- Take daily recommended dosages of vitamin D and Omega 3 oil, along with a good quality multi vitamin/mineral supplement. Thanksgiving special below!
- Eat healthy food!
And finally, if you have too much stress in your life, your immune system is so busy dealing with that, it leaves you vulnerable to frequent viruses.
Health Tip: I have had 2 clients in the past week ask me about skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. Topical treatments only ease the symptoms, not cure it. If you have tried everything you can think of without success, try eliminating wheat and sugar from your diet (after you have had that piece of pumpkin pie) for a few weeks… amazing things will happen to your skin!! That is how I cured a lifetime of eczema from my hands. It’s that simple! I could rant for hours about the devastating effects of modern wheat and sugar, and soon I will devote an entire newsletter to the subject, but I will spare you for now!
Excessive stress may also manifest in skin irritations. Brainwave OptimizationTM can help you manage stress and reduce anxiety.
Thanksgiving Special – high quality Omega 3 oil products are 15% off until October 31st! I also sell one which includes vitamin D. These are in liquid form.
I carry liquid calcium, vitamin d drops, and a high quality vitamin/mineral product line among other natural supplements.
Recently I read an inspiring article in the Windsor Star about a teacher, having suffered a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, who is training for the Toronto Marathon on October 14 to raise money for bike helmets for kids. I pledged to donate $1 for every “like” on my Advantage Brain Training Centre page. If you have not done so, please go to www.facebook.com/londonabt and click like. Thank you for your support!
