How is your 2016 so far? We are now almost a month into it, and I wonder how many of us have made, and now broken our resolutions. I am not a big fan of new years’ resolutions, mainly because many of us set the bar unrealistically high, and by now we have crashed and burned. Just ask those who are consistent health club members. They know it’s going to be crazy busy the first few weeks of January, then back to “normal” and they are relieved to take back their gym!!
I prefer to make longer term goals and plans, and then break them into small tasks that I can manage, eventually bringing me closer to the big picture. Thinking and planning big is still part of my process, but over-extending expectations of myself and others usually does not produce the results I want. Still, I like to stretch myself a little to be sure I am always improving.
